I wouldn't say technique is so different, but, of course, the mouthpiece is much smaller, so your mouth will have quite an adjustment.
Soprano will take more control, however. It seems that the smaller horn has more intonation problems. The first time I ever tried to play one, I thought it was a bad horn (a Keilworth in a music store). The first time I played the one I now own, it was similar, but after a week or so, my lip learned what to do, and I am able to play the soprano in tune.
