VINTAGE BUESCHER SAXOPHONE ELK HART

i have just recently purchased a VINTAGE BUESCHER ELK HART SAXOPHONE it was apparently manufactured in 1919 and i have been told that it is low pitched. can anyone confirm? is it possible in any way that wont cost me a fortune to get this sax to play in tune?

    As I replied to the same question in the other thread, low pitch is today's standard, so that won't be the problem. If you're having intonation problems, it could be due to several things. Maybe the pads are too thick or too thin. Maybe the resonators are the wrong shape. Maybe there are leaks on the high end, throwing everything else off. Early vintage horns sometimes also require quite a bit of lip work. In other words, they are more dependent upon the player to be able to lip the different notes up or down to get them to the proper pitch. Someone else may be able to tell you if this is so for the Buescher Eklhart... I hadn't heard that it was.
