The 1930's through early 1950's Conn 10M models are some of the best tenors ever made. The only issue I have with them is the keywork versus the more comfortable, to me, and faster action of the Selmer Mark VI horns.
The rolled tone holes add some extra value in the pre-1946 Conn's but do not add to the tonal quality. Pads might last longer with RTH's - a potential extra value. The sound of a 10M with me playing is more open than a Mark VI but not as lush or warm - if that makes sense to you. But hey - I still think I basically sound like me on most horns I play! Find a connsaxmanJim post - he has a 1948 10M. Ask him about vintage horn differences. He has quite a collection. Good Luck.
