A Meyer's giving you a thin, laser-y tone? Maybe you should try some long tones. If you absolutely need a new mouthpiece, try Vandoren, Morgan or maybe another Meyer. If you're looking to spend a little more, a JodyJazz or an SR Tech or something vintage, like a... Meyer, or a Selmer Soloist (dont get a modern Soloist; they suck).

When did you switch from your RPC to a Morgan, Count?

I haven't. But if a Meyer gives him that bright lasery tone I don't know if an RPC is for him because I thought they are *sorta* similar...Morgan C is just dark dark dark...can't get much darker. But I like a bit of brightness.

I also play an 875-EX. I purchased a Phil Barone 6M mouthpiece about 8 months ago. I have been really happy with it. These pieces are hand finished by Phil himself. His website is www.philbarone.com
