Hi Im doing some shopping around for a bari sax. I've played alto on and off for a number of years, and my question is: is there price wise, such thing as a student bari sax? Since im not a pro player, just a "hobby player"im lookin for a not so high price tag.Any help will be appreciated. Also wich of the taiwanese made horns is best? thanks!!!!

    Re: bari sax

Selmer makes what could be considered a "student" bari sax..I can't recommend it. I haven't tried all the Taiwan horns, so, speaking from my experience, the recent Jupitors seem like decent horns.....Cannonballs are worth looking into...an old Conn would be a great idea..if you can find one in good shape, ya can't lose.

Try an R.S. Berkeley bari. They are sold through USAHorn. www.usahorn.com
