Thinking about soprano saxes

I'm a clarinetist, age 79. I played clarinet and sax back in high school days. I currently play bass clarinet in a clarinet choir. For some reason I have a desire to get a soprano sax and see if I could make some sweet sounds. What brand could I buy, not hugely expensive but which plays well?

Yamaha makes an mid range soprano thats a pretty good horn. Check out the Cannonballs..I've come across several that were more than decent.

If you get a cannonball, make sure its one of the new ones, preferably made in the last year. if you can find a good deal on a used yanagisawa, keilwerth or selmer (series ll), those are nice. the p. mauriats aren't bad
