Mingus High School Jazz Band Competition!

Hi guys, I am an intern for the Mingus Institute, and wanted to make you aware of this upcoming and exciting event! Here is the link: mingusmingusmingus.com/JazzEducation/mingusHScomp.html THE FIRST ANNUAL MINGUS HIGH SCHOOL COMPETITION February 22, 2009 & 3-Day Mingus Summit February 20-22, 2009 MANHATTAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC New York City Presented by Justin DiCioccio at the Manhattan School of Music and Sue Mingus of Let My Children Hear Music (The Charles Mingus Institute.) Prominent educators including Gunther Schuller and Andrew Homzy, joined by musicians from the Mingus repertory bands including Conrad Herwig and Boris Kozlov, will adjudicate and perform during the summit. Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation is providing music charts to participants. By request, we have expanded the eligibilty to high schools in the entire Northeast, including: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
