Fathead Newman Gone to see Brother Ray

Anyone who ever saw Mr. Newman play, new him, got to meet him knows how he will be missed. Anyone who never had the chance i am sorry for you, he was a humble, open person and a great player. if you don't know his music young people pick some up, or check out some old youtube of him and Ray Charles. Fathead passed last week from pancratic cancer.

      not sure how many young people know who he is, there were so many good sax players who were never really headliners or famous but still, like johnny hodges from dukes band and im sure many others. you can see fathead on a youtube viedo playing flute with ray charles.

      So glad i got to see him before he died. Once with Ray, once a couple years ago with Lonnie Smith
