Tips for better searching

set up

Here is my set up : tenor Selmer SA80 II with Otto Link HR n° 7 (standard) reeds Rico jazz select 2 1/2. The sound seems always high (for me). I look for a "rougher" sound. All advices welcome. Thank you.

    Maybe a Link STM and listen to a lot of Coleman Hawkins.

        try different reeds. cause Rico... dont make the best reeds. try vandoren or alexander.
