Vintage Buescher Saxophone - need help identifying

Hello, I have a Buescher Saxophone gold laquer. I believe it is a tenor. The serial number is 48198 and beneath that is 30A. It has a heart shaped engraving on the bell, that says Elk Hart, with Built by Buescher in a ribbon shaped rectangle below it. It is in fairly good condition. Also wondering what it might be worth. Thanks for any assistance!

It's hard to tell without seeing it, but it sounds like you might have a Buescher True Tone series II gold plated tenor. (see first website). If the horn is in good condition, it's worth about $1,500, according to Steve Goodson (see second website, but this site is several years old now). Hope this helps. www.saxpics.com/?v=mod&modID=1 www.saxgourmet.com/VINTAGE_SAXOPHONE_VALUE_GUIDE.htm
