Need Help with ID.....A good buy for $50?

So I was down at an antique shop and they have a buescher aristocrat. Its serial # is 111938 and underneath it is stamped S-33. It doesn't have any sort of artwork on the bell; it says "Buescher" vertically and "Aristocrat" horizontally. Any idea when this thing was made? It doesn't fall into any of the serial # lists I've been able to find on the web.

    for $50? yea, id say thats a good guy by serial number, it should be a true tone.... and it should have some ingraving.... weird. but for $50, cant go wrong

    the first digit in the serial number is not correct. It's supposed to be a 4 not a 1. If it's in playable condition, $50 is a pretty good deal, although not a "steal." A good playing one in very good condition would fetch $400 max.

      actually, ive seen them listed just under $2000. id buy one for $400.
