Yamaha 82Z tenor

Hello I am considering buying a 82Z tenor model of Yamaha. I am playing an old 62 model and like an upgrade. Does anybody have experience with the Yamah 82Z? hope to hear..

i have an 82 custom z alto. and i chose it over the selmer model 52 super action 80 series 2. it has great control in all registers. With an s 80 mouthpiece it is really nice for classical and it is pretty good for jazz. howevere i am looking into buying a jazz mouthpiece for it since that is mainly what i play. hope this helps

They are great horns. But play a lot of different horns and more than one Z. I play a unlaq-ed Z and loved it. The one I got beat out a BA and two 6's I tried. This was the second Z I played however. The first one I tried did not move me. Just find a horn that allows you to get to that sound in your head...what ever horn that is.
