King Saxello

I have a nearly mint King Saxello serial # 83,xxx. It has a matt silver body and chrome plated keys. Yah, I know, that sounds strange but they are definitely chrome plated .. if silver they would tarnish which they don't. Does anyone know how common chrome plating was back in 1925 and how rare this may be on Saxellos?
