Re: Hunter Alto Sax
I have not had personal experience with the Hunter brand saxophones. However, keep in mind that you generally get what you pay for. These instruments are most likely made in China, Taiwan or Vietnam. They sell online for $699. Given that they had to ship from overseas, and the company and the dealer are both making a profit, there's not much room for quality. The actual cost of the instrument is extremely low. I've worked and played on several of these off-brand "cheap" student saxes and have always found the build quality and padding to be very poor.
For a good affordable new student model sax, you may want to consider more reputable brands such as P. Mauriat and Chateau brand saxophones. Best of Luck!!
