Is the LA Sax Big Lip alto a good sax for beginner?

I'm 28 years old..played brass in High School, got the music bug again & am wanting to learn sax. Is this a good brand/good sax for a beginning adult? www.amazon.com/Sax-Saxophone-Black-Nickel-Finish/dp/B002MNAYMC/ref=sr_1_21?s=musical-instruments&ie=UTF8&qid=1321032043&sr=1-21 If not, anybody have any recommendations? I do love the finish on the LA Sax's..

Nevermind..decided to just get a cheapo now; bought a used yas-23 on Ebay instead. I will get the Big Lip some day though..thing's beautiful.

I think you made a wise decision in getting the YAS-23. There are lots of saxes that look nice but are not good horns. LA Sax (RIP) was an importer and marketer that got horns from a variety of sources. A couple of their models have gotten praise, but the Big Lip isn't one of them. LA Sax gained a wide reputation as big on show, short on go. When it comes time to move up from your Yamaha, shop carefully and remember that appearances can be deceiving.
