John Coltrane's Saxophone

I have a friend who claims he's getting John Coltranes Alto Saxophone. I have my doubts because according to my knowledge John Coltranes main instrument was the Tenor also, my Friend says it's 100,000$ and a Selmer series 3. Is this possible? Thanks a lot.

    Trane did play alto early and late in his career, but definitely not a Series 3.  A fool and his money are soon parted.
