Conn 10M Lady on the Bell Case

I have a Conn 10M Lady on the Bell tenor sax.  I also have the original case.  What I would like to know is whether or not I should keep the original case since it is a little beat up from almost over 70 years of use.  It is in moderate shape.  Anybody have thoughts on the value of keeping it?

Re: Conn 10M Lady on the Bell Case

The original case matters only to collectors. If your Conn 10M is in excellent original condition, it may be advisable to hang onto the originnal case. If the 10M has been relacquered or has a lot of wear to the finish or past damages that takes it out of the relm of "collectors horn" then I don't see the case really adding to the value of the instrument. However, don't throw it out. You may be able to sell it for $50-$100 depending on its condition. You could try posting it up in the trading post on this web site and just see if you get any bites. Best of Luck!!
