Question about Buescher Tenor

I have a Question, I recently purchased a Buescher Tenor from my yy. I would like to know where it fits into the scheme of things. The serial # is 335XXX, but there is a 156 inder the serial # what does that mean? It says Aristocrat, and true tone on the engraving, and it plays great. Any info would be helpfull
Thank You in advance

    Re: Question about Buescher Tenor

You got a good one.  The 156 is a model designation that started in the early 40s after the change from deco to the "Big B" engraving and continued until the introduction of the 157 model in the mid fifties.

Having had every era Buescher tenor, my keep it forever saxophone is a 340,9xx that once won an ugly sax contest.  I'm not the only one who thinks that it is the best tenor they have ever played.

Enjoy it and find a tech who knows and likes the snap on resonator system for when it needs pads.
