Orpheum Deluxe SN# 69xx

I am trying to determine the actual maker of this Tenor and through different forums I have come up with two possibilities'. R&C or Malerne.

There are two versions of this horn out there mine with the <|> type body/bell brace and one with a J style brace.  Also mine has the Pinky table with the G# wider on my wrist side and the other model has it wider towards the Bell (like the Conn). Both seem to have the teardrop style right hand low C Lever.

One previous forum stated that they contacted Claudio Zolla at Rampone and he said that

"Yes, it is a stencil made by our company around 1965. R&C"

But the pictures associated with that post are no longer available to compare.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated and Thanks

Does it have "France" or "Italy" stamped anywhere?

To be perfectly honest, I don't think there's enough riding on your question to make it worth your worry.  That group of minor league manufacturers making Malerne-type stencils copied each other, bought parts from each other..... whatever.  None of them are particularly sought-after.  But if the horn you've got works for you, that's all that matters.
