rudall carte

Hello I have a rudall carte saxophone and I am trying to find info about it on the sax is 23 berners street with 6441 under address
I carnt see any other marks as sax. Is in need of repair any info would be helpfull thanks

    I've got a sax 6442..... There's a guy in Edinburgh who has a database of all living rudell carte instruments..

      This is a very intersting old thread. Thanks for bringing it forward from 8 years ago. Rudall Carte was a known flute producer. This early ancient sax is definitely a stencil, made either by the Adolph Sax operation, that later became Selmer. Or made by Buffet. These ancient horns, keyed to low B and with minimal keywork, are fun to break down and rebuild. Your example of keys does not seems to be complete. I assume those not pictured are still on the body tube or you are in the process of putting it back together. I have a couple examples that I have had soaking in penetrant for a few years myself. No rush to get them playing.

      Nice post. Keep us up to date on the refurbishing progress.
