selmer mark vi sparkle lacquer

Hello, can anyone help with this please.

I have a (very nice) selmer mark vi alto, 123XXX which has sparkle lacquer.

The engraving of the two selmer words on the bell looks to have been etched over, which puzzled me but on cleaning it well I realise it is engraved with sparkles.

The case looks to be original with selmer logo and is a light grey colour square suitcase style. This is different from other selmer cases of the era.

I know that Buffets around the mid 60s came with sparkle lacquer but have not seen this on a selmer.

I was told it belonged to a musician somewhere near Las Vegas, which may account for the blingy taste.

Has anyone ever heard of this as an option for selmers, or is it something which has been done to it as a relacquer/blinging up later?

Very grateful if anyone can help.
