buying my first saxophone

So I love the sax don't know much about it, but really want to learn how to play. I just wanted to know the basics, and any recommendations on first sax. I think I want to start out with a tenor sax, any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Yamaha makes very good beginning saxophones and a wonderful professional line of saxes as well! I would suggest getting a private teacher for starting out even on the basics. Lots of listening to master sax players is also reccomended. Welcome to the ranks of saxophone players!

      Yes, Barry is correct. The Yamaha 480 line is great. Its an entry level professional saxophone, but one that I would glad take out on a gig any day. Here's a link to more info about it:
