set up

hey im a freshman playing alto sax at my high school. i need some advice on finding the right mouthpiece, ligature, ect. i was also thinking about a new sax. i play with a student model and i might need one soon. i would like info on the pro model saxes like yanagisawa, pro model yamaha and things like that. can somebody who owns one of these plz give me some help?

      My 2 cents. Practice long tones for 6 months before you hunt mouthpieces regardless of you level of development. If you spend some time working on controlling your sound you will have a much better understanding you what you are looking for and a greater ability to adjust the sound. If you can't get a full sound on a stock mouthpiece you can't get a full sound period. As far as a pro horn. I'd give the same advice. Off the soapbox. What instrument/mouthpiece do you have. How long have you been playing? What are your plans musically? What don't you llike about your current setup?
