Yanagisawa S-991 or S-992?

I am about to buy a new soprano and I know that I want a Yanagisawa (I just have a connection with Yanis over other modern saxes). I am just wondering if anyone has had the chance to compare the standard brass to it's bronze counterpart? Does it really make that big of a difference in tone? and if so is it worth the $500 difference? Thanks.

The bronze does make a darker tone. I prefer the S991. However, if you want something with a richer overall tone, then the S992 (or S902 if you dont need the high G or double neck - because otherwise, they are the same horn), is the way to go. Either way, whicheve Yani you get, there is not a better soprano on the market.
