Neck for series 2

I tried a bunch of saxes and liked the selmer series 2. So I ordered one from a shop that works on them that will tune it for me. It will be here soon. Since then I have heard that these horns have an over curved neck that is designed for sitting. Would it be cool to change the neck for a reference 54 neck? Or is it not that noticable? Also would the 54 neck be a different color? Would it make it freer blowing? tone difference?
