weird resistance

i started out on alto many years ago and i switched to tenor exclusively for a while but a few years later when i tryed playing the alto again i felt alot of resistance and i had to blow a lot harder just to get a sound.is that normal?

    Very normal. Tenor is much more free-blowing than alto. Think of blowing through a straw vs. a garden hose. Surely not quite that much difference (maybe comparing sop to bari), but it makes the point.
