Has anyone heard of the Crown company?

I have a vintage Beare & son alto sax That also has a crown logo on it and RCAF 2 MD engraved on the bell. Does anyone have a saxophone like this or even just a Beare & son or Crown saxophone? if you have one could you post pictures of it please.

The serial number stamping looks like Conn, I'm sure it is an old stencil of theirs. Conn (and Buescher and Martin) made a whole lot of stencils way back when, under a multitude of names.

It's a stencil that looks like it's based on a late 1930s Buescher Aristocrat design, most likely equivalent to Buescher's second-line "Elkhart" model.  You can check it against examples in the museum gallery on this site if you want to be sure.  It was apparently the property of the Royal Canadian Air Force at one time.
