I really like Selmer metal jazz mpcs on alto (great response), but not so much on tenor as the chamber is smallish and the low end doesn't sound full to me. The price depends on the condition and what size you're talking about. I've seen vintage Selmer metal jazz pieces go from $50 to $300+. They aren't terribly rare, so they are moderately affordable compared to other vintage mpcs.
