Try a Phil Barone New York model with a Consoli Ramplig Dark Ligature. The Barone costs $150, and the Consoli is about $30 from WWBW. The Barone piece has a really great, smooth, jazz sound that projects very well. It has loads of guts if you push it. The Consoli ligature compliments it quite nicely. The Consoli is similar to a Rovner except it has a sort of "ramp" with two rails that the reed sits on. It has a bit more freedom and resonance than the rovners. www.wwbw.com/Consoli-Ramplig-Professional-Dark-Ligatures-i80467.music

I have 2 that I switch back and forth depending on classical or jazz - a 30 year old Selmer C* with a Bonade ligature and a new Yanagisawa 5 with the Yani lig. Both do the job for music.
