What Happened to Borgani in the US?

Went to buy a Borgani and was talked out of it.

Word is they tried to sneak in some Taiwanese suppliers into their build parts list and they got caught by Roberto's Woodwind in NY.  He noticed a change and dropped them like a hot potato. And then it seems like the rest either followed or they found out something was wrong too. Heck, I can't find anyone who sells Borgani anylonger in the US.  Did Borgani go back to EU or US suppliers or are they still playing games and buying Taiwanese parts which means possibly very poor quality Chinese parts.  Anyone?

I wouldn't know about the Taiwanese parts, which might not necessarily be a bad thing.  The Taiwanese are building some pretty fine horns.  I'm guessing that Borgani's position in the US fell victim to competition from less expensive and better made Asian horns.  Borgani made some nice sounding, beautifully conceived instruments but apparently their build quality wasn't all that great.  Check out Matt Stohrer's experience overhauling Borgani on his blog and you'll see what I mean.
