gregary mouthpiece

I thought I read somewhere that Cannonball Adderlly and Paul Desmond (Best all time alto players) both used gregary mouthpiecs. Has anyone ever tried one? Where would you find One?

    Re: gregary mouthpiece

It's Gregory with an O. They're awesome mouthpieces, with a cool, unique sound and nice projection. Desmond used a 4A-18, Cannonball a 5A-18. They both used Model A's. The first number indicates the tip opening, the second number indicates the chamber size (16=small, 18=medium, 20=large) Theo Wanne always has some for sale at MouthpieceHeaven.com , they show up on eBay all the time, and sometimes they show up on saxquest in the mp trading section or in the vintage mp section.

GREAT pieces. I'm in the process of bidding on a 4A-18 tenor piece right now. A friend of mine introduced me to them. It's really too bad they don't make them anymore. Anyway, ebay, free trading on here, mouthpieceheaven.com (though I haven't seen many there lately), or places similar are good places to look. -Wade
