Buescher Aristocrat Tenor

Can anyone shed some light on a mid 70's Buescher Aristocrat tenor (serial # 660xxx), as to if this was considered an intermediate or a student model? Is it comparable to the Buescher 400 series? Would it compare to a Conn 10M, 16M, or 22M? I played one today and was really impressed with the sound and controll, especially on the low end. It apparently has been in a dark corner of the basement in a music store in my town, and I'm considering buying it. I would appreciate any feedback.

    Re: Buescher Aristocrat Tenor

The mid seventies aristocrats are the same as the bundys, OK horn but nothing special and are deemed intermediate. If you want a better horn ,by far , go for a pre 1963 buescher. After 63 they were bought out by selmer and barsterdised. If its been gathering dust then whats wrong with it as a music shop does not leave stock lying around. What price do they want and compare that to a buescher from ebay etc, Dave
