movin up

I know this girl who is wanting to upgrade her mpc from a Yamaha 4C. She plays alto at school but is not crazy about playing. I suggested an Otto Link 5 or 5* because she wants a jazzier sound but also be able to play more legit stuff for school band. Was this a good suggestion? If not, what would be better? She is a mature player but has never moved passed a 4C. Any and all advice would be appriciated. Thanks.
