Chris Potter plays a rare Selmer Paris Balanced Action c-melody

Posted by Saxquest [See all of this user's videos] about 6 months ago
Selmer did make a few Balanced Action c-melody saxophones in the mid 1930's. They are very rare. This one dates to 1938 with serial number 27027. Although the pitch center was a little off because it was being tested with a tenor mouthpiece (Otto Link Florida vintage), you can still hear Chris Potter dial it in. The c-melody never sounded so modern as it does in Chris's hands!!
