OTTO LINK New York Tone Master 3* (Serial Number: 09) Back to model

This is an old New York vintage metal Otto Link Tone Master mouthpiece for the alto sax, serial number 09. This piece is an original 3*, measuring about .058”, and amazingly it still has its original cap & lig and is still in the original box! The piece is in exceptional condition for its age. Outside of normal finish wear (the gold plating has worn to the silver underneath in most spots), there is really no major physical wear. There are some scratches inside the piece where it looks like someone tried to clean it years ago, but these are superficial and do not seem to affect the sound or play of this mouthpiece. The tip and rails are original and in phenomenal shape. The price on the box marks it as $16.00 new when it was sold back in the late 40’s or early 50’s. A really nice find.
