MEYER Brothers New York Tru-Flex - Rubber 4 Back to model

This is an extremely rare find – a very early NY vintage Meyer Bros. “Tru-Flex” mouthpiece for the alto sax. This piece dates to the very early NY Meyer days, and is one of the first hard rubber mouthpieces they produced. The piece is all original, stamped a 4, and measures .070”, or equivalent to a modern day 5 facing. The piece has a few light surface scratches here and there but nothing major, and just a couple light indentations in the bite plate as seen in the photos. It plays with a big sound, perhaps a bit warmer than the later NY Meyer Bros pieces, but with that same kind of presence.
