BUESCHER True Tone - Gold Plated (Serial Number: 147038) Back to model

This is a real testament to the artistry of the 1920's. This "De Luxe" finish Buescher True Tone curved Bb soprano saxophone would have cost an extra $100 back in 1926 and would have been purchased with finish option "L". From the Buescher catalog of the day, this finish is described as

FINISH L - De Luxe Finish. Beautifully engraved designs all over instrument from mouthpiece to bell, quadruple gold plate, entire instrument burnished to mirror finish, ivory rollers for little finger of each hand. This is a beautiful finish, especially designed for those who want something distinctive and elaborate, and which will instantly attract favorable attention.

This wonderful instrument with serial number 147038 is keyed up to high F and plays with a rich warm tone. It has a resonant, free blowing feel and plays incredibly well in tune. This is certainly a top grade professional soprano by any definition.
