SELMER Original Vintage Selmer Paris Silver Super Tenor (Serial Number: 14687) Back to model

This is an amazing example of a vintage Selmer Paris Super tenor, serial number 14687.  This saxophone was first entered into the Selmer paris log books on August 8, 1931. It was shipped to New York as a raw brass shell and finished in original silver plate with gold inside bell in Elkhart.

The original silver plate is in superb condition and the body is in remarkable shape as well. Its body tube, bow, bow cap, bell and bell flare are all in beautiful original condition and have no history of repair. No dent repair and no re-solders. The gold wash around the bell flare is particularly impressive looking. These early vintage Supers are most often seen in very poor shape which makes this one particularity exciting. After these photos were taken, this sax was professionally overhauled in the Saxquset shop by George Bunk in Feburary of 2015. The Saxquest re-pad included all new leather Valentino pads, new resonators, corks, felts and a top notch key regulation.

This Super tenor has a super free blowing sound and a pure warm color. A real joy to play!!!
