This is a Buescher True Tone alto sax in a matte silver finish, serial number 201428. This horn is in remarkable condition for a 1920's vintage saxophone, complete with original case.
This horn looks great. There are no dents or dings, and no resoldered joints. There are no signs of any past damages or repairs. All in all I'd say the sax has never really been played all that much. Even normal playing wear on the touch points, that you almost always find on a vintage horn, is absent. The silver finish is over 99% intact. The sax does come with the original "1" neck, also in outstanding condition.
This saxophone was restored by Aaron Barnard back in 2006. The horn plays with a real warm character, with just a bit of resistance to push against. It is definitely a sweet sounding instrument, with a lulling almost hypnotic quality to the tone.
