Here is a sweet vintage Martin Handcraft soprano saxophone in original silver plate, serial number 85326. This soprano has a real free blowing nature, and can really generate some sound!
Physically, this horn is about as nice as they come. The silver finish stands over 95%, with only light wear on a couple touch points. The instrument has never come within a sniff of being damaged. There are no dents, no dings, and no resolders. It is definitely a beauty.
The sax was fully set up in 2005 by Saxquest's Duncan Bamsey. Pads used were semi-firm Valentino premium, with brown plastic resonators. It plays and feels great. The horn offers zero resistance to the player, and responds immediately to your airstream. It has a slightly spread characteristic, and presents a warm rich tone color.
