This is a Conn Chu Berry alto saxophone, serial number 225682. This late 20's vintage alto has 99+% of its original burnished gold plate still intact. This was the most expensive finish that Conn offered and is truly gorgeous. The wonderful Conn hand engraving covers nearly the entire bell!! The gold is still a very rich, full coat. The photos really don't do it justice.
The physical condition is flawless. There are NO dents and NO previous dentwork of any kind. The neck is original and is in excellent condition.
This Conn has rolled toneholes, split bell keys and the crosshatch G# key. It's really great to find these in such amazing preserved condition. This horn has a very warm sound to it. These vintage Conns sound incredible with gold plating.
