C.G. CONN Silver Plate Chu Berry (Serial Number: 171410) Back to model

Here is a beautiful Conn Chu Berry alto sax in silver plate, serial number 171410.

This sax is in near perfect condition. Besides its welcoming physical attributes such as the Conn microtuner neck, the fingernail file G# key, and rolled tone holes, it has also been meticulously cared for over the years. The silver finish stands at over 99%, with just a few light scratches here and there and no major wear of note. There are no dents or dings, and no signs of any past damage or repairs, including no resoldered joints. The bell flare has never been creased, the bottom bow has never taken a hit.

The key tension is on the lighter side, exactly how a vintage Conn should feel, and the key height is medium-open. The instrument responds like lightning under the fingers, extremely fluid and quick.

Boy does this instrument sing too! It has a slightly spread characteristic to the sound, and just a beautiful warmth to the tone that really envelops the player and listener. It is a joy to play.
