C.G. CONN New Wonder "Portrait" Gold Plate "Nude Woman" (Serial Number: 119399) Back to model

Here is a beautiful example of of the exquisite beauty of the late 1920's/early 1930's Conn saxophones. A number of gold plated "portrait" saxophones were produced throughout Conn's "golden era" and these horns today are among the most desired of all vintage saxophones.

This particular saxophone is know as the "full nude". It features hand engraving using the fine "push cut" engraving style. The Conn engravers of this period were artists in the true sense of the name and it was these detailed portraits and scenes which showcased their true artistic creativity.

The sax is in near MINT original gold plate. There have been no major past repairs. The sax has been very well cared for over the past 80 years.

The set up on this sax has a nice open key height which really brings the instrument to life! The sound is rich and the horn is extremely responsive with an overall dark sonic character.
