Ned Rothenberg:

Rothenberg composes and performs on saxophones, bass clarinet, flute and shakuhachi (an end blown Japanese bamboo flute). He has been internationally acclaimed for his solo music which he has presented for the past 17 years in hundreds of concerts worldwide. He leads the ensembles Double Band and Power Lines and is a founding member of the cooperative group New Winds (with Robert Dick, flutes and Herb Robertson, trumpet). His most recent group is Sync, with guitarist/bassist Jerome Harris and Tabla virtuoso Samir Chatterjee.

Bob Drake:

Self-taught musician/producer/engineer Drake sings and plays bass, drums, violin and guitar. Since 1994 he has also been vocalist, bassist and producer for 5uu's. He was a founding member of Hail with whom he recorded two CDs and an LP. He has released two solo CDs, "What Day Is It?" and "Little Black Train.". In addition to innumerable performance credits, he has created sound effects and music for films, toured the world mixing the live sound for director Peter Sellers' controversial adaptations of classic plays, and has produced and/or engineered projects for many popular artists including Ice Cube, Lily Tomlin, Tina Turner, Quincy Jones, and countless LA rap/hip-hop groups in the early '90's. He is the producer/engineer in residence at Studio Midi Pyrenees in France where he has recorded and mixed CDs for various artists such as Peter Blegvad, Blast, N.O.R.M.A., Dull Schicksal, Stevan Tickmayer, Chris Cutler and Fred Frith. Currently he is at work on a new solo CD.

Thomas Dimuzio:

Thomas Dimuzio, composer and multi-instrumentalist, has been producing and performing original electronic music for more than a decade. As a solo artist his work has been released internationally by RRRecords, ReR Megacorp, Odd Size Records, Ponk Records, Cuneiform and other independent labels. As a collaborator Dimuzio has worked with Chris Cutler, Tom Cora, 5uu's, C.W. Vrtacek, Fred Frith, ROVA Saxophone Quartet, Due Process, Dan Burke, Don Ritter, Paul Haslinger, Count Zero and many others. His solo concerts throughout North America and Europe feature improvisations using his interactive system of samplers and processors, Markoff Process (RRRecords) documents such performances from New Music America, Sonic Disturbance Festival, Eventworks and other new music festivals.

Chris Cutler:

Chris Cutler is predominantly known for his work with the experimental group Henry Cow, but has worked in an amazing variety of musical contexts over the last 25 years. As a drummer, his anti-virtuosic yet subtle and sophisticated style made him popular with both the progressive rock and new music fans. Other projects included two other bands he co-founded, Cassiber (1982-now) and The (EC) Nudes (1993-), as well as collaborations with The Residents (1979-80), Aqsak Maboul (1978-80), Duck And Cover (1983-84), Les Quatre Guitaristes De L'Apocalypso Bar (1986-90), David Thomas & The Pedestrians (1983-85), Pere Ubu (1987-90), Hail (1992), The Wooden Birds (1986), Lussier/Derome/Cutler (1988-90), The Kalahari Surfers (1987), Perfect Trouble (1989-90), Between (1992), The Work (1982), Goebbels/Muller (1987), and many others.

Chris Cutler is known as an improviser (in many contexts) in the experimental rock world, at jazz festivals, and in the world of contemporary music. He is also known as a lyricist, both for his own and other projects (When, Jon Rose, Biota, etc.). He founded and runs the independent distribution and record company RéR/Recommended in 1978, is editor of the ReR Quarterly, the New Music magazine 'unFILEd' and author of the theoretical book "File Under Popular". With the above projects and many others he has made more than 75 records and CDs and toured through Europe (East and West), the Americas (North and South) and Japan.

Jennifer DuMars:

Vocalist and composer Jennifer DuMars performs as a soloist and as a member of many vocal and theatrical groups. She is most recently featured on the CD Openings by conductor/composer Joan Szymko as part of the Viriditas Vocal Ensemble. Her solo repertoire includes composers ranging from Sondheim to Bach to Griffes and she is a highly respected recitalist.

Doug Theriault:

Guitarist and improvising noise artist Doug Theriault has performed with a wide variety of improvisers throughout the US. Regular collaborations include the group Office Products with drummer/electronics guru David Chandler, and the widely acclaimed group Kagel featuring bassist Matthew Sperry and sound installationist Phil Woods. Doug is the co-founder and current leader of the "Unsound Practices" performance series in Portland, Oregon.
