Instructions for replacing neck cork

Hi, I'm going try for the first time to replace my own neck cork on an alto Conn 6M. I generally keep it on a stand and have been woefully neglectful in keeping the cork lubed... I played the horn last night and in pushing the mouthpiece further onto the neck, the cork went right along with it!!! Anyway, I'm buying some cork from my tech, and he told me to use contact cement, and to cut it at an angle. Does anyone have any tips or further detailed instructions? Does the cork need any preparation other than applying the cement? Thank you!

Wonderful instructions! Thank you! It took me a bit to figure out what they meant by the X's, until I realized they were talking about a kit they sell! I'd been trying to find a place where they told where to put the X's! I understand it now, though. I'll save the link in my favorites so that I have it when I need it agains
