Conn Pan American Sax

I was just given a saxophone today, it says Pan American Model made by the Pan American Band Instrument and Case Company, Elkhart Indiana. It has a silver finish and gold washed bell, Pat. Dec 8, 1914, SN 1119954 C second set of numbers is P12514 L. It is in very good condition and only appears to need a good polish and a few pads replaced there are no dents or dings at all. The neck is curved like a tenor neck. I was told it is an alto but it seems to me that it may be a C Melody. Can anyone tell me where I can find information on this as to which type it is and the age. Thank you for your help. Jim

    Re: Conn Pan American Sax

The C would in fact indicate C Melody, The sax was most likely made in the early-mid 1920's
