Does anyone know which make of alt-saxophone was played by Lee Konitz in the 1940/50s, when he recorded with Lennie Tristano - These Foolish things, I cant get started Etc? (also which mouthpiece)

Since you seem to be interested in Lee Konitz - see the discussion titled Who or What Inspired You? under the Jazz Saxophone heading. According to what I've heard, Lee usually played a Selmer. Would have been a Balanced Action, I guess, on those recordings you mention. And I don't know on the mouthpiece, but I bet it was hard rubber and would guess Meyer New York, but I don't know. Welcome and good luck.

I was a student of Lee's. He usually played a Selmer Balanced Action, the one with individual key guards on the bell keys.
