Whats the difference between a silver mouthpiece and a brass mouthpiece?

hello, my name is Troy and I will be purchasing a phil barone Jazz tenor mouthpiece VERY soon, but for a while now ive been wondering what the difference was between the silver and brass version? I wouldnt mind paying a little extra for the silver but $200 dollars more is a little steep. I emailed phil but I would also like to know some opinions of other saxophonists. thanks and happy holidays, Troy

The looks... The shape inside the mouthpiece is what matters... www.saxontheweb.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=416481&postcount=5 From Phil Barone himself.

That depends on the player (i.e. some players swear by gold-plated mouthpieces, but I have never had luck with them) . . . play through both mouthpieces and see which one works better for you.
