    this horn was manufactured in the '70s. It is not rare..it's probably worth refurbishing. Talk to a qualified repair person (NAPBIRT)

      thanks, do you know why some sax's have this dull finish, two comments one had to do with glare, other I heard was a "cheap" finish,.......any thoughts?

        I believe, although I could be wrong, that these horns were finished in this manner with marching band use in mind, as the finish and the instrument itself is extremely durable. I've found these horns when properly set up to have a rather nice sound, particularly the altos.
