NEED HELP!! I inherited a mid 60's, Buescher Aristocrat Alto Sax

It belonged to my dad, who played jazz band in High School. He seems to think he got it around 1965-66. He is asking me to sell it. It has not been overhauled - has all original parts, but looks (to my inexperienced eyes) to be in good condition - no dents, bends, etc. The serial number is 397-093. Guess I'm looking for a fair sale price. Thanks so much!!! I also have the original case, which has a built in case for a clarinet. I took it to the local music store, who offered me $50.00. Any input would be appreciated!

I'd love to see that horn. I can tell you now it's worth more than $50.00. With out seeing the horn, I wouldn't take less than $450.00..it may be worth alot more than that. You might get on e-bay and see if you can find a comp. The Bueschers were great horns, and the Aristocrat was considered top of the line. I have a photograph of Johnny Hodges playing an Aristocrat..look around and don't let it go cheap..it may be a fine old vintage horn.
